JUMANA MANNAA Magical Substance Flows Into Me

In troubled times like those we live in, we look to the work of the palestinian artist Jumana Manna, who has been exploring the complex relations between history, power and belonging. This is the case in “A Magical Substance Flows Into Me” (2016), that addresses the preservation of vernacular sonorities of the diverse communities present today in the geographic space of historic Palestine. Jumana Manna shows us how important is it to not forget, but also to take a stance so that History is not made of destruction. We call for ceasefire in Gaza and for an end to the military occupation.
